Hi Rachel
Failing being able to access you by email I left a message today with Ester.
I would like to introduce our group. www.patientstogether.com to you. I feel it is a terrible shame that we were unaware of your upcoming workshop in Dublin.
If ever a group and its members deserved to attend it is us.
For three years now we have worked voluntary and tirelessly for an end to the unnecessary suffering of patients in Ireland
We have met with the Minister for health and many other interested parties. We have used the media and our website to highlight the genuine hurt and pain experienced by the Irish patient.
Many of our hospitals in Ireland are overcrowded, dirty, a mess. Their staff will honestly admit this as they also are battling for change.
Many patients are dying unnecessarily due to lack of equipment, beds, hygiene etc
We have found it an enormous battle continuously challenging a government who seem to ignore our plight year after year and who pay hundreds of thousands on spin doctors. As weeks pass and we feed the media yet another patient’s horror story we observe a government who give us nothing but false hope and promises.
I listen time and time again to patients tears of frustration and hurt because they feel lost, isolated and helpless. We want a health service that heals and cares not tortures and kills, we will continue to work for change.
I can put you in touch with nurses, doctors, consultants, patients, porters, ambulance men all willing to support us. Together we will continue to lobby for a health service we can be proud of. We have no political agenda. We are just ordinary Irish people who have had enough of the hurt and anguish. We have nothing to benefit other than a world class health service for all Irish patients. We feel it is our basic human right.
